Beauty for it's own sake.

It's been a hard summer, with lots of changes, lots of self-examining, and lots of loss.
In the middle of all of that, with the garden and farm share in full swing, there are things to be canned, frozen, dried, etc. Every now and then, you just plum need to do something lovely. Something relaxing, something beautiful.

I'm learning to embrace this, as it doesn't come easy for me. Here are two beauty-adventures I had this summer.
Jen Russo, an amazing henna artist, did my friend's and my feet a few weeks ago.
It looked amazing, and dyed so deeply. Henna is truly make up that is just for one's self, and I miss it.
We ate chocolate, drank mead, and relaxed while we sat and waited for it to dry. Lovely!

These don't look nearly as good in the photo,
but they are almond-plum star Danish's.
A frivalous adventure into the world of pretty baking.
